NA 101 –NURSE AIDE 1

The Nursing Aide 1 Program is a one hundred and twelve (112) hours NC State approved training course which provides the core knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality health care to residents in nursing homes, hospitals, home care, rehabilitation, and assisted-living facilities. Students will be taught the proper way to care for residents/patients with empathy. This includes principles of basic personal care (hygiene, grooming, bathing), dressing, feeding, transferring, and assisting with mobility. Other skills include taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure), monitoring and documenting appropriately to the Registered Nurse.

Students are required to submit the following for enrollment (All Programs):

  • TB Test (within the last 12 months)
  • Social Security Card (non-laminated)
  • Physical Examination (within the last 12 months)
  • Criminal Background Check (within the last 12 months)
  • Valid Driver’s License or Government issued identification
  • Completed Application Form with (non-refundable fee $50)
  • Graduated High School Transcript/GED or College Transcript

Once students complete our classes they will need to schedule and pass the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program which is the state exam administered through Credentia to become Certified Nurse Aide 1 (CNA); fee is $140 which student will pay directly to Credentia and is not included in schools’ fees/tuition.
